[New Journey to the West Season 5] Premiere

Nationwide ratings for episode 1: 5.727% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+3235, -55] God Journey to the West.. It's seriously the best

2. [+1705, -235] No but PO must also be burdened by 'NJTTW', he must've done it on purpose to be fun - stop shitting on him. If it's boring then please don't watch it. When Song Mino came out, at first people said he was boring and then said he was fun, what happened to those people?? Let's watch it a bit more (t/n: Basically some people were criticizing the show/members for not knowing some of the history questions)

3. [+1443, -83] Is Eun Ji Won for real 41 years old? I feel like people will believe it if they were told he's 31

4. [+1183, -77] Song Mino is so cute

5. [+1110, -251] PO's funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+651, -29] Since when has 'NJTTW' become a show where it got shitted on for being dumb? Stop with the judging and nitpicking and just watch it. I hella laughed while watching, people are just saying shit. Laugh a bit ^^ Try to live a bit happily.

7. [+605, -10] No but when Song Mino and PO saw each other, it was the reaction of real friends, it was really the killing point ㅋㅌㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Really looking forward to their chemistry ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The first episode was soooo funny!
I was laughing so much when PO and Mino were celebrating together because PO joined the cast and Ahn Jae Hyun was just watching them from the side and said, "I miss Kyuhyun" LOLOL
I miss him too ㅠㅠ

[SPOILERS!!!][Mr. Sunshine Roundup] Episode 24 (finale)

Nationwide ratings for episode 24 (finale): 18.129% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+11650, -27] Thank you to the ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the country... And thank you to the actors for their enthusiastic performance..

2. [+5585, -32] I was happy because I was able to watch the drama 'Mr. Sunshine' and because I was able to feel it. I sincerely thank all the people involved

3. [+5361, -46] A country where because they looked down on skills, looked down on the army, the ordinary people stepped in, grabbed guns and taught them, and volunteered in the front lines and died.... It's not so different from now.... I hope they pull out the chinilpas at least now so that they can release our ancestors' sorrow.... ㅜㅜ

4. [+3556, -30] It was sad and tragic.

5. [+2465, -109] Aren't they hanging the flag up backwards because the country was robbed? The day we take it (the country) back, the country will stand straight and the flag will stand straight.. Do you think they did that without knowing? In this type of masterpiece..

6. [+1591, -4] The thing I liked the best about this drama was the part where not only did they make a detailed reference to the Five Eulsa Traitors but also the Seven Jeongmi Traitors. I think that many people probably don't exactly know the Five Eulsa Traitors and probably don't know the Seven Jeongmi Traitors even more. Instead, I think it's important to take shameful history and teach us not to repeat that.

7. [+1572, -8] This was the best drama of my life.. It was more vivid, beautiful, and heart-aching than any historical movie. While watching the drama, it was my first time thinking about the country. The actors' acting.. And the cinematography plus the directing and the subject matter.. It's a work of art that won't exist again!! Bravo!!

8. [+1486, -9] Until the ending, the drama was to the point where it was the best drama of the year but after the ending, it looks like it's a life drama. The lingering is no joke. During the scene where the train was separating, Kim Tae Ri's sobbing and Lee Byung Hun's acting is really engraved into my mind. And Goo Dong Mae and Kim Hee Sung's last moment was really like that life. Goo Dong Mae was a sad life but because he lived a life where people trampled over anyone and killed them it was sad but it ended pitifully. Kim Hee Sung lived a life where he was confined by his ancestor's wrongdoing so he lived while trying to atone for the wrongdoings but in the end, unlike his ancestors, he died beautifully like his life with nothing in return ㅠㅠ

9. [+1348, -6] The captions at the end, "See you again in our country that becomes independent", thank you for letting us watch a drama like this...

10. [+1333, -7] There weren't any kiss scenes but the love story was stronger than any other drama...

1. [+798, -3] It was a masterpiece...

2. [+430, -2] I would like to thank the members of the Righteous Army and independence fighters who let Korea exist until now, we can't let this drama end as a drama but need to make sure to receive a formal apology from Japan

3. [+407, -2] Only Ae Shin survived but Yoo Jin, Dong Mae, Yang Hwa, and Hee Sung are all precious and are all alive in my heart. Starting from Righteous Army leader Hwang Eun San to Gunner Jang, Haman-daek, Haengrang, and all the Righteous Army members whose name we don't know, thank you. Those people are the history itself.. Goodbye.. See you again..

4. [+300, -4] This is the all-time best drama of my forty year life, it deserves to be called a drama

5. [+237, -1] I think it'll be hard for me to re-watch the last episode. Because my heart hurts..

6. [+56, -1] It's the best drama of all time, no it's passes a drama and it's a movie. It's a really deep drama that made me realize that Japan was a country like that and thanks to the members of the Righteous Army, we're able to live in a country that regained its independence, thank you

Oh my goodness...
My heart...
I'll try to upload my review on this drama by the end of this week, I need time to recuperate ㅠㅠ
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me ㅠㅠ ♡

[SPOILERS!!!][Mr. Sunshine Roundup] Episode 23

Nationwide ratings for episode 23: 15.419% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+7670, -37] I cried the whole time while watching. Especially during Haengrang, Haman-daek, and the palanquin carriers' ending.. They were on their way while risking their lives but how can they go with such bright faces. Even if it was a hopeless country, we're currently living in a hopeful country because at that time, you risked your lives and protected [the country]. Although it's just a drama, because of it, it's being carved into my heart... Thank you

2. [+5177, -96] It's not patriotic, I think of writer Kim Eun Sook who wrote a drama like this to be a patriot... It's such an amazing work that makes you feel a lot of things differently compared to her other works

3. [+3370, -36] Don't come to Jeju Island while raising your rising sun flag. Make them all sit down and play this drama. (t/n: Jeju Island is holding a international fleet review and the Korean public are criticizing Japan because they said they're going to bring their fleets that carry the rising sun flag. You can read about it here - X)

4. [+2577, -35] All the atrocities are too cruel and painful ㅡ In the middle, there was an ad for Asahi,, Miniso sponsorship,, that was more painful

5. [+2237, -26] They should've at least let Haengrang and Haman-daek hold hands at the end ㅠㅠ It's so cruel and sad ㅠ

1. [+1115, -8] I can't picture Kudo Hina as anyone but Kim Min Jung. She's really graceful and charming. You're the best!
↪ [+15, -0] Let's call her Lee Yang Hwa ㅜㅜ (t/n: This is the character's real name)

2. [+687, -10] Kim Min Jung did a good job at being a perfect match as the character Lee Yang Hwa, a really cool character who knows how to quietly, confidently, and clearly appeal her intentions

3. [+526, -15] From her time as a child actor and up to now, she's doing a good job with her acting career with no issues and because she's pretty, she's an actor I'm quite fond of... She was seriously just Lee Yang Hwa herself

4. [+371, -10] Min Jung who was just Kudo Hina herself! She was cool because she knew when to step back in front of love! I won't forget how Hina was passionate in every moment. Hina was beautiful in every moment. Thanks for the hard work!

5. [+203, -6] I hoped that everyone would survive, I'm just sad..

1. [+1554, -14] It doesn't feel like a drama.. it feels like I'm watching history, I'm grateful to the members of the Righteous Army who risked their lives to protect the country, I feel like the pain that's cutting into my heart is going to last for a long time

2. [+787, -4] When Ae Shin sobbed after seeing Jang Seung Goo's hand, I cried with her ㅠㅠ

3. [+559, -6] Hina is such a sad character... ㅠㅠ

4. [+291, -11] I hope Eugene doesn't die ㅠㅠㅠ I hope every lives

5. [+239, -11] Please.. please don't die and live

6. [+168, -0] When the older members of the Righteous Army died, I sobbed - fuck what kind of drama is this ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Seriously, we're all busy with our lives but we can't forget about this painful history ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

[I Live Alone Roundup] Han Hye Jin reveals her knee issues, Park Narae's mother makes an appearance

Nationwide ratings for this week's episode: 11.4% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+2559, -45] Kian's advice about living a second life.. You can sense the sincerity. It seems like Hye Jin unni also felt it from the look of her expression ㅋㅋ  I hope Hye Jin unni can find a different hobby like Song Kyung Ah.. I hope she doesn't hang her whole life up on the title of being a model.. Health is the best ^^ My knees aren't good too.

2. [+1565, -11] Rather than it being an addiction, it seems like it's more of an obsession that was caused by her job......

3. [+1380, -65] If the members of 'I Live Alone' make it fun by bustling, then people create a fuss and say don't be too friendly. People make a fuss and say show people living alone, accordingly to the show's purpose. If they show footage of people living alone then they create a fuss saying it's boring. What do you want them to do ㅋㅋ Just do one thing. I think it's fun

4. [+1401, -94] 'I Live Alone' has so many freaking mother-in-law bugs like 'Infinite Challenge' and 'Knowing Bros' ㅠㅠ If you don't want to watch it then don't watch it, you're terrorizing the 'dislike'-button and posting hate comments, pathetic ㅋㅋ Watching the original members is so much more fun than watching new people (t/n: Mother-in-law viewers are basically viewers that nag and complain about every factor about a show... 'Infinite Challenge' had notorious ones...)

1. [+3219, -51] The content that's relatable to everyone if they're a daughter ㅠㅠㅠ Park Narae really seems like a good person, I hope she has a long run ahead of her!

2. [+1975, -32] I know a young person like me shouldn't judge but even the mother is quite humble and seems like a good person even though her daughter is a celebrity... It seems like Narae exactly resembles that personality, it's a wannabe mother-daughter relationship that's really nice to watch.. ^^

3. [+1672, -35] During her friend's bridal shower, Narae said that her family was struggling a lot and that she received a lot of help from her friends, when she cried my heart hurt but it's quite nice to see that right now she's doing this well and she's sending her mom off on trips, I hope she gets to go on even better trips

4. [+1623, -77] It's just Lee Si Eon and Simon D who were missing today but it's really empty. I feel like it's quiet especially because Si Eon-nim is missing, he created nicknames and would joke around a lot on the side

5. [+1006, -34] Narae is thoughtful and nice~ Narae is such a nice person

[SPOILERS!!!][Hand: the Guest Roundup] Episode 5 + 6

Nationwide ratings for episode 5: 2.899% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+605, -4] Kim Dong Wook is able to act with comedy, action, drama - he's able to do everything

2. [+396, -4] No matter what the ending is, I hope they'll leave Hwa Pyung's grandfather alone ㅠㅠㅠ

3. [+237, -6] I liked today's story the best, the reason they're tailing Park Il Do, the foreshadowing that Hwa Pyung and Yoon will work together, and new possession. And while this is happening, Hwa Pyung and his grandfather protected the beef ㅋㅋ 'Hand: The Guest' is really fun ㅠ

4. [+151, -3] I feel like they're really did a good job at making the ghosts look real, it's scary... ㅠ But still, because the plot is fun, I keep making sure to watch it - 'Hand: The Guest' hwaiting, I hope the ratings go high up ㅎㅎ

Nationwide ratings for episode 6: 2.960% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+280, -5] It's so fun

2. [+226, -6] The actors who act possessed are the best here!!! It's seriously chilling

3. [+124, -2] The hand moved. From Priest Choi to Song Hyun Joo who died to Park Hong Joo who was burying

4. [+111, -6] The attack is a bit weak, I wish they would use an invisible barrier and enchantments or at least good items (t/n: They're basically talking about the drama like it's a game LOL)

5. [+64, -7] I feel like I won't be able to sleep with the lights turned off until this drama ends

I just started this drama last night with my mom ㅠㅠ
We watched up until episode 2 but we can't continue because we're both scared LOL
I don't mess with no exorcisms or possessions LOL
I'll try to continue once it's sunny outside because I need to support my mans Kim Dong Wook and Kim Jae Wook

[Post-Drama Interview] Actor Kim Nam Hee of 'Mr. Sunshine' looks back at his role as Takashi Mori

Original Source (tenasia via Naver): 'Mr. Sunshine' Kim Nam Hee, "I have to surpass Takashi"

tenasia: "How did you come to appear on 'Mr. Sunshine'?"
  • Kim Nam Hee: Last summer, I went to audition. While conversing with director Lee Eung Bok, the acting came out naturally. At first, I did a free performance but I did a monologue from the play 'Hamlet'. I think he enjoyed it, he told me it was a role of a Japanese and asked me to perform the lines written in Korean in the Japanese I know. Because I don't know any Japanese, I just used all the words I know and just saved the vibe (laughs). He told me that he wanted to hear the tone of my voice when I spoke Japanese. That's why I ended up with the role of Mori Takashi.

tenasia: The director must've liked the way you spoke Japanese.
  • Kim Nam Hee: After completing the audition, the other production crew said, "Director Lee Eung Bok has never had this long of a conversation with an unknown actor before filming." They tipped me off that, "You might get the role of Takashi". I was also curious.

tenasia: You didn't think that you were going to get the role of a Japanese, right?
  • Kim Nam Hee: I didn't know at all. It was to the point where I was thinking, "Why was I chosen?". After giving me the role of Takashi, he told me that I was Eugene Choi's friend and I was going to see him again as an enemy. At that time, the script wasn't released at all.

tenasia: Before the drama, have you ever learned Japanese?
  • Kim Nam Hee: Not at all (laughs). The production staff stressed the importance of it. It might've not been their intention to burden me but they said that my co-star is Lee Byung Hun sunbae-nim and said, "Do you think you can do well?", at that time something like pride developed. I said, "Of course, I feel like it's going to be fun? I can do well"...Haha. During the first filming, I was overwhelmed by Lee Byung Hun sunbae-nim (laughs). I can't speak Japanese and because there's significance to the role, I felt special but I thought, what do I do now? I felt stuck.

tenasia: In the future, as an actor, I'm curious about your goal and direction.
  • Kim Nam Hee: I think the criteria for the next work will be if I'm going to play a bad guy or not. Next time, I hope I can play a role that speaks Korean rather than a foreign language (laughs). Who would have thought that I would talk about goals like this, I didn't know that I would be this desperate for our language. Haha. The viewers who saw Takashi must've been inscribed [by the character]. I feel like if I don't work hard enough to make them forget about Takashi then I'll be confined by Takashi for a long time. My goal is to become a star that's good at acting. I want to become an excellent actor who touches hearts. My dream is to be an actor who leaves good works even though time passes and makes masterpieces.

1. [+2170, -14] "Eugene, this music box is originally yours"

2. [+1225, -19] "What do you think the children of those who were in the Righteous Army in 1895 are doing right now?"

3. [+859, -11] When he was acting, I was watching while trembling but he's really amazing

4. [+587, -11] He's seriously really cool, the outcome of hard work

5. [+496, -14] Takashi: "Eugene, unlike you, I was originally of high status in my homeland...This music box is yours"

6. [+236, -1] Nam Hee, I really enjoyed your acting (t/n: In the original comment, the commenter wrote it in the way Kim Nam Hee speaks his Korean in the drama - it's hard to directly translate that pronunciation so I directly translated it into English)

[Life Bar Roundup] Cast of OCN's Player

1. [+53, -3] If you're a fan, doesn't everyone know that Krystal has a lot of aegyo?

2. [+43, -3] All the actors that have worked with Soo Jung all say that unlike her cold image - she's nice, cute, and overflowing with aegyo

3. [+28, -1] Cutie pie Krystal, she's cute

4. [+27, -1] Every time she does a drama, her co-stars say nice things, I wish the hate commenters would stop saying she's bitchy

5. [+24, -1] Pretty

1. [+870, -13] Song Seung Heon's appearance is also cool but even though he's a top star, when you listen to him talk, he seems nice so that's why I feel like he's cool

2. [+472, -37] Lee Si Eon-ssi, promote a lot and become a great actor, I'm supporting you

3. [+453, -26] Song Seung Heon is really a sculpture and his personality seems really, really good, he has everything. He kind of looks like he would be soft and free ㅋ he also has sense, Song Seung Heon please come out on variety shows

4. [+423, -23] Song Seung Heon is so cool

Actor Jo Woo Jin revealed to be a father

His reps revealed that he and his fiancee have a one year old daughter together. They registered their marriage before the child was born. As previously reported, Jo Woo Jin and his fiancee have been in a relationship for 11 years and will have their wedding ceremony in October.

1. [+9852, -65] During his unknown period, they couldn't hold a wedding and while living after giving birth to a child, he's now able to let her wear a dress.. Imagine how happy they are.. (t/n: By 'unknown period', I mean the time period when he wasn't a known actor - like people didn't know his name, he was basically a struggling actor)

2. [+6102, -79] If it's 11 years then it's basically a common law marriage. It's not even weird that they have a daughter

3. [+4122, -54] Right now he's doing well because he succeeded but I'm thankful for his wife who helped him during his struggling period - as expected, if you're good at acting, you'll succeed - congratulations

4. [+2165, -25] Because of his unknown/struggling period, it seems like they're now holding a wedding ceremony, congratulations - you're really good at acting, an actor needs to be the one who does the acting

5. [+763, -31] Congratulations ^^ Is your twin brother doing well too? ㅎㅎ (t/n: They're talking about actor Kim Byung Chul LOL)

Actress Kim Hye Soo promotes the 'No Plastic' challenge

You can read about the plastic ban that was implemented recently here - X (Korea Herald). But basically, if you go to a coffee shop like Starbucks, then you're not allowed to use a plastic cup if you're going to stay inside the store and they can only give you a plastic cup if you're ordering your drink for to-go. The businesses will get fined if they're caught serving their drinks in plastic cups to in-store customers.

Kim Hye Soo is building awareness to lower the use of plastic cups by encouraging people to use tumblers.

1. [+1190, -13] As expected~~ I'm supporting you~~

2. [+593, -11] I'll also join~~ I hope many people will participate for the children who will have to live in the future, the environment is really being destroyed, let's actively participate.

3. [+362, -6] I rewatched the KBS documentary episode on micro plastic yesterday and it was really severe. We need to make an effort to decrease plastic . Hye Soo unni, I'm supporting you

4. [+191, -6] As expected of Hye Soo unni

5. [+105, -5] I'm supporting you

YAAAASSS
I love an environmentally friendly Queen! :・゚

[I Live Alone] Chuseok Special

Nationwide rating for Chuseok special:  7.9% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+3519, -71] I don't know about anything else but it's certain that Park Narae hard carried ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's nice to see her taking care of Simon D who recently joined so that he doesn't get embarrassed
↪ [+125, -6] I seriously really like Narae unni ㅋㅋ She's seriously really funny and lives hard

2. [+2939, -893] Ah Han Hye Jin and Jun Hyun Moo, no matter how close you are - know the line for when you're throwing blunt remarks, it felt like they might cross the line so it was risky ㅠ

3. [+2156, -326] I know that Jun Hyun Moo, Han Hye Jin and Park Narae are close but it feels like they're kind of treating her roughly even during Summer Hyun Moo School Park Narae said her mother doesn't watch gag comedy shows - so that she can at least watch 'I Live Alone', I hope you can respect one another and joyful scenes can come out
↪ [+207, -34] Park Narae was also hella teasing Jun Hyun Moo? Age, face, body hair, body and more - how many did she tease about? She just always starts a fight? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
↪ [+105, -39] Jun Hyun Moo and Han Hye Jin are more severe than Narae's joking around, look at today's game ㅡㅡ

4. [+1477, -103] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Simon D Narae ㅋㅋㅋ They click really well ah they're funny and cute - crazy

5. [+1300, -209] Jun Hyun Moo and Han Hye Jin needs to grow their minds a bit to care for others. Don't try to put others down to recover from your own complex.
↪ [+137, -29] When Park Narae shits on Lee Si Eon or Lee Si Eon and Kian84 shits on Park Narae and Han Hye Jin, did your ears go somewhere? These losers are trying to ruin a variety show by acting like mother-in-laws

This Chuseok special didn't get good reactions...
Many viewers criticized it for just rehashing old episodes into a compilation and labelling it as a "special" when it was basically a rebroadcast of old episodes...
Personally, I feel like a lot of the mother-in-law viewers from MuDo moved to I Live Alone...
