Original Source (Money Today via Naver): Seo Jang Hoon looks back on his life..."You don't know how life will end up"
Nationwide ratings for this week's episode that aired on June 22: 4.4% (cr. Naver TV)
Seo Jang Hoon revealed that he first started sports with baseball when he was in elementary school. When he was in middle school, he was really lonely because although he was in a baseball club, all his friends attended a different school so he started to lose interest in baseball. So he wanted to transfer back to the school his friends were at but he couldn't transfer schools just because he wanted to. Back in the days, you couldn't transfer unless there were special circumstances so he was wondering what he could do to transfer. The school he was at had a basketball club and they told him that he can transfer if he was a basketball player so he entered the basketball club so that he can transfer schools. He thinks that his teacher had an idea that because Seo Jang Hoon's was already so tall, he would fit more with basketball than baseball. During this period (end of the first year in middle school), he was already 180 cm.
Although he transferred, everyone in the basketball already had 3-4 years of basketball experience because all of those athletes began playing when they were in elementary school but Seo Jang Hoon had no experience. He said that the well-versed players would practice in the middle of the court but Seo Jang Hoon would practice shooting at the side of the court. He said he got better at shooting but no one knew because he never had the experience to show people.
During the second semester of his second year in middle school, he said he and his family really contemplated the idea of him quitting basketball because they worried that at this rate, he won't even be able to go to college so they were thinking of just making him focus on his study. When they were contemplating, he slightly dislocated his leg and they decided to take a break so that he can focus on "rehabilitating". But in three months, when he was rehabilitating, he grew 12-13 cm. He was now 197 cm. When he returned, people didn't even recognize him and the sport became easier for him because now everyone who was taller than him was now shorter and his shooting got better because he's practiced it so much. He said his most memorable dunk was when he was first able to shoot successfully but no one remembers it or saw it because he was just practicing during practice but he said that first dunk resonates with him.
Regarding his career as a TV personality, he said that Yoo Jae Suk reached out to him one day and that's when he made his first guest appearance on 'Infinite Challenge'. He said that after that guest appearance on 'Infinite Challenge', the way people looked at him was different - he liked it because for the first time in a while, people were looking at him warmly.
He said that seeing how his life changed like this (from being a national athlete to a TV personality), he said that he doesn't think he can talk about life easily because you don't know how things will end up.

1. [+6835, -143] For an athlete, he has a common sense.... He's also hella smart. When you watch him solve the problems on 'Knowing Bros', even when he's making a reasoning, he takes reasonable basis and adds imagination to make an inference but he gets the answer correct ㅋㅋ He's daebak smart. He knows a lot of things and his actions are careful... and he's rich... Hmm.....
↪ [+245, -11] Someone said this one time, I think it was Choo Shin Soo?? All athletes are smart, it's just that they don't study ㅋㅋㅋ
↪ [+447, -3] I think even with athletes, the ones who are smart and have a sense are the people who succeed. Just because you try hard doesn't mean you'll succeed. Although every field is like this
2. [+2914, -105] He seems like a good person.. It doesn't look like he's faking~ He looks like he has common sense
↪ [+116, -8] A person who has common sense must've drank and drove twice ㅎ
3. [+2161, -47] I'm seriously looking at this person in a different light after they left basketball.. During his athlete days, all I remember is him cussing ㅋ
4. [+976, -23] There's no such thing as definite things in life
5. [+434, -102] I respect you.
