[Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurant Roundup] 15th AlleyㅣPart 1 - 5

Nationwide ratings for episode 71 that aired on June 19: 6.9% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+1115, -19] I feel like the taco restaurant ahjusshi is going to be hella stubborn

2. [+962, -34] He was a cooking instructor so his pride will probably be intense... Whether if it's Baek Jong Won or someone else, if someone comes and criticize you, your emotions will be down... But still, blaming it on your wife that there was a lot of lettuce in the taco.... Sigh....

3. [+848, -19] The grandma from the kalgooksu restaurant seems like she has a good personality and I think she puts in sincerity into her ingredients (t/n: kalgooksu is literally translated into knife noodles but it's a noodle soup dish and it's one of my faves!)

4. [+625, -42] The taco restaurant owner's facial expression.. His facial expression looks like, "I'm the best in life but why are they telling me what to do", I hate people like that the most...

5. [+360, -16] The male owner of the taco restaurant was being stubborn and I feel like he's going to clash a lot with Baek Jong Won in the future...

Original Source (OSEN via Naver): "It's not a taste that I can just critique" 'Alley Restaurant' kalgooksu restaurant, the story that made Baek Jong Won cry (featuring construction golden bell)

Nationwide ratings for episode 72 that aired on June 26: 6.6% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+2646, -8] It was nice to watch because it felt like they finally went ahead with a solution-like solution... Because she's a veteran restaurant owner who knows how to fundamentally provide a clean and light taste, I hope she receives the solution well and hits daebak and is happy with her son and daughter-in-law...

2. [+1416, -12] Grandma, be healthy for a long, long time~ ^^ I was choked up the whole time while watching.. It's the best from what I've seen.. Baek Jong Won-nim, thank you..

3. [+1153, -10] Even if she experienced that pain, she's pure, she knows how to be thankful, and seeing how she takes care of the people around her it made me really reflect and I was embarrassed of myself. Be healthy and prosper!!

4. [+822, -9] The kalgooksu restaurant owner has a good personality and I can tell from her eyes that she's pure. Be healthy and I hope she makes a lot of money ㅠㅠ

5. [+456, -7] As a parent... yesterday's episode was really heartbreaking.. ㅜㅜ

Original Source (OSEN via Naver): 'Alley Restaurant' Kalgooksu restaurant, 'crisis' after renovations...Taco restaurant, on the crossroads of 'popularity or legitimacy'

Nationwide ratings for episode 73 that aired on July 3: 6.6% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+1302, -12] I really like that they provided a solution to a restaurant like the kalgooksu restaurant.. I was in a bad mood because sometimes, they would provide solutions to childish villains who expect you to spoon feed them but the kalgooksu restaurant is so heartwarming.. But I think she needs to definitely cut down items on the menu..

2. [+676, -10] Kalgooksu restaurant owner, always be happy

3. [+310, -7] Grandma, be healthy ^^

4. [+286, -4] I like that there are a lot of scenes where she's smiling, I hope that you only walk the flower path

5. [+187, -11] The taco restaurant did change only after two weeks but tacos and burritos are foods where the opinions are divided... They need to hurry up and decide whether they going to make it traditional or Korean fusion.. Seeing the preview, they said they want to do both but they'll flop if they do that... It's bigger because of the spices... That's why this food doesn't do well even in Seoul.

Nationwide ratings for episode 74 that aired on July 10: 5.8% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+1958, -24] Baek Jong Won taking care of the kalgooksu restaurant, going through with the solution without missing even a small thing is really heartwarming.. Sometimes I would frown because they would go through with the solution for young business owners who, sometimes don't make sense and expect you to spoon feed them but it was really nice watching the kalgooksu restaurant this time

2. [+1580, -18] I think the best scene from today's episode was him offering ideas and opinions to the side dish businesses at the traditional market... ㅠㅠ I think it was a scene that best reflected that the show's purpose isn't to save only a couple of alley restaurants but also the local businesses near the alley ㅠㅠ I think Baek Jong Won is really amazing... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

3. [+1109, -14] I think the burrito restaurant really met a good wife, if he didn't meet a wife who would accommodate like that I don't think he would meet anyone

4. [+904, -68] Ugh, that stubborn burrito restaurant... Seriously, I hate that type of person.....

5. [+749, -39] I wish the burrito restaurant didn't come out. He's really stubborn, he's really prideful, and he keeps saying this and that... I think Baek Jong Won is going to explode next week, I seriously get annoyed every time the burrito restaurant comes out

Nationwide ratings for episode 75 that aired on July 17: 6.3% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+2375, -56] Don't have a couple's quarrel in front of the customers, don't view your wife as a kid and view her as your partner and I hope he respects her suggestions - because your wife is a saint and she's living while receiving that loser personality of yours~~              ↪ [+247, -8] That's what I'm saying, I think his wife really has a good personality.. Her husband keeps being too wishy-washy with weird reasoning.. The wife is a saint

2. [+1420, -16] The wise saying from the Pobangteo donkatsu restaurant owner today: The customer's mouth enjoys it by my body being tired.

3. [+1237, -48] The female boss at the burrito restaurant is really lucky ㅋㅋ She's good at looking cool, she's good at controlling the male boss, she's good at persuading and she speaks nicely ㅎㅎ She married well

4. [+1008, -14] No but he only fried 120 pieces of shrimp for 30 servings and he makes his friend who's also his subordinate, do the work again and he's stubbornly persisting that he's tired. Isn't that too much? The friend sets the rice, sets the shrimp, gives water, gives refills for rice, refills the side dishes, cleans, does the dishes, and carries out the payments - he does everything, what is he, superman? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+478, -34] Seriously, Baek Jong Won is the best

omg
the kalgooksu grandma ㅠㅠ
my freaking kokoro ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
at first when the taco restaurant came out, I was like "WTF is that" when they showed their tacos, especially since I live in LA and I love tacos but I'm glad they finally chose to go on one path rather than being wishy washy until the end

[Weekend Variety Roundup] Knowing Bros, Master in the HouseㅣAll the Butlers, My Ugly Duckling, Running Man

Nationwide ratings for episode 194 that aired on August 24: 5.1% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+1924, -10] The fact that he was born in 1985 ㄷㄷ

2. [+1273, -13] He's younger than Sandara Park ㄷㄷ He looks old but his years of experience that comes out from his way of speaking ㄷㄷ

3. [+926, -9] Crazy, I thought of course he was in his 40s ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

4. [+369, -9ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The fact that he's younger than Min Kyung Hoon

5. [+335, -36] He has a good face for when he ages more although he currently looks older

Nationwide ratings for episode 83 that aired on August 25: 5.6% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+369, -33] ㅋㅋ Today's episode was really funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The perilla leaf incident ㅋㅋ Seung Gi oppa is so good at being the spokesperson for master No Sa Yeon-nim's perspective ㅋㅋ (t/n: They went to a Korean BBQ restaurant and Lee Moo Song revealed that he and No Sa Yeon once had a huge argument because of perilla leaves. They went to a restaurant with a female coworker and they were served pickled perilla leaf at the restaurant and from personal experience, perilla leaves are really thin and they're really hard to pick up with chopsticks when they're pickled and Lee Moo Song said he noticed the coworker having difficulty picking up the perilla leaf so he pressed down on it so she can pick it up with her chopsticks and No Sa Yeon got mad at him over that. I remember them talking about this on another show and people were saying that from a woman's perspective, it can be hurtful because your husband is taking care of another woman LOL IDK I thought it was funny)

2. [+246, -21] That freakin perilla leaf ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+167, -36] I totally relate with her! When I went on my honeymoon with my husband, my husband held down the perilla leaf for a wife of another newlywed couple so we had a huge fight when we returned to the hotel and almost divorced.. ㅋ

4. [+145, -17] When you talk about No Sa Yeon, she was legendary when she was active with her perfect comedy collab with Joo Byung Jin on 'Sunday Night' ㅋㅋ

5. [+111, -32] Today's episode was also hella fun, I kept on laughing

Original Source (Sports Chosun via Naver): "Is that living like a celebrity?"...Kim Hee Chul and even his mother has a controversy, Universe Star's easygoing daily life

Nationwide ratings for episode 153 that aired on August 25: 18.1% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+4969, -156] Sigh... To the parents of sons who want their sons to quickly get married because they skip breakfast~ You don't get married so that your son can get taken care of. They need to become a person who can take care of themselves and people who have the capability of taking care of others get married to take care of each other.. Please stop using these reasons to say that your sons need to quickly get married. You really seem like a clueless adult....
↪ [+119, -478] He's a famous celebrity and he has a lot of money, if the girl isn't even going to make breakfast for him then doesn't that mean she's freeloading off of him? With marriage, I think that, at times, you fill things that you each lack and you're considerate of one another but you seem like an old loser who didn't get married, an old maid ㅋㅋ
↳↳ [+527, -18] A woman can have a lot of money and she can have her own career.. What are you talking about, asking an office worker who's busy going off to work in the mornings to make breakfast, sigh.. Does a woman have to give up her career or make breakfast while going to work if Kim Hee Chul is rich?
↳↳ [+521, -14] @ishe (t/n: the first reply commenter) must not be married. If you need someone to receive money and make food then it's right to hire a housekeeper. Also, the person who should make breakfast for your son and take care of him is you, mother. Don't think about making another family's precious daughter into housekeeper and instead, either go visit your son's apartment or live with him again to take care of his meals.

2. [+2195, -57] If he gets married, will your son who doesn't eat breakfast begin to eat breakfast? Who's going to make that breakfast?

3. [+1828, -25] I'm hella jealous that he gets to make money off of fooling around like that because it's considered filming

4. [+684, -12] What does it mean to live like a celebrity?

5. [+533, -14] He skips meals → I wish he'll get married. Why is it that our nation's mothers come to that conclusion even if our generation changes this much? ㅡ.ㅡ

Original Source (Herald POP via Naver): 'Running Man' Park Jung Min x Choi Yoo Hwa x Lim Ji Yeon makes their appearance...Lee Kwangsoo carries out whipped cream punishment

Nationwide ratings for episode 465 that aired on August 25: 6.4% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+140, -6] The character game was so funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+61, -6] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Seriously, today's episode was so funny ㅋㅋㅋ daebak

3. [+56, -2] Sticky rice shortie ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (t/n: I didn't watch the episode so I'm going to write the literal translation LOL)

4. [+43, -5] Actor Park Jung Min-nim, succeed more!

5. [+23, -0] Ah today's episode was hella funny ㅋㅋㅋ They never met Jae Suk but they made a guest appearance on 'Running Man'???

This is my one thousandth post on the blog!!!
Wow.... I can't believe we reached 1000 ㅠㅠ
I thought it would be good to make the one thousandth post a weekend variety roundup post since I haven't posted a variety roundup in a while ㅠㅠ

REGARDING RUNNING MAN
Many of y'all have been asking for Running Man posts - I usually translate things that are trending on the front page of Naver. For example, articles for 'I Live Alone' trend on the front page ranking for hours after the episode airs on Friday and tbh, Running Man hasn't been trending on the front page for a while and when I do go hunt for Running Man-related articles, the comments usually have less than 100 upvotes.... For example, for this post, the first and second comment on the Running Man article is made by the same user.
It's kinda hard to keep track of when there's not a lot of activity ㅠㅠ
If y'all want to send me articles of Running Man episodes then I'll go ahead and translate it but in my experience, it's been hard finding popular, trending RM articles and if I do find articles, there's always a lack of comments and upvotes.

Just wanted to clear it up for y'all since a lot of people have been asking lately.

Original Source (Star News via Naver): 'Hotel del Luna' Yeo Jin Goo longing after Lee Ji Eun after she goes to see off Lee Do Hyun, "Hurry back"

Nationwide ratings for episode 14 that aired on August 15: 10.0% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+5190, -35] In the end, Jang Man Wol is going to choose Goo Chan Sung and return to the hotel - Goo Chan Sung's crying acting was totally the best
↪ [+456, -0] In the end, Goo Chan Sung = the flowers on the Moon Tree itself... I don't think there's a point of Man Wol going to the afterlife if Goo Chan Sung doesn't die

2. [+4178, -21] Chan Sung let go of one moon like it was nothing and the scene where his anxious emotions blew up at the bus stop..... It was really relatable. You can't feel anything because it's a person you can no longer see but all of sudden, you become really sad. Yeo Jin Goo is really good at acting. The directing was also cool... It was really painful. The ending scene...

3. [+2642, -17] Why am I sobbing when Yeo Jin Goo was sobbing ㅠㅜㅜ

4. [+1883, -21] I was really immersed into Yeo Jin Goo's acting during this scene.. He's really good

5. [+1121, -17] The ending is always crazy, Man Wol is going to come back ㅠ

Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium doloremque laudantium, totam rem aperiam, eaque ipsa quae ab illo inventore veritatis et quasi architecto beatae vitae dicta sunt explicabo. Original Source (tvN via Naver TV): [Sobbing ending] Yeo Jin Goo's tears, who misses everything about Lee Ji Eun

1. [+6189, -28] Seriously Jin Goo is really good at acting, both of ManChan's acting today was hella awesome....

2. [+5115, -35] A weak Goo Chan Sung was crying and I cried with him

3. [+4669, -27] If Goo Chan Sung keeps on loving Jang Man Wol then the flowers that didn't fall will keep blossoming in his heart ㅠㅠ It's been a while since I was fond of God Ma Go ㅠㅠㅠ

4. [+4084, -26] Was Jin Goo this good at acting...? Why is he crying so sadly ㅜㅜ I think he let go of everything he suppressed for a month while Man Wol wasn't there, I seriously teared up because he cried ㅠ

5. [+3615, -30] The way Chan Sung cried seems like the way someone who doesn't make a single noise while crying would cry ㅠㅜㅠ The way he would cover his face with his hand - it seems like it's because he's not used to himself crying or even because he doesn't know how to cope with this type of emotion coming out.. I think it's because Man Wol is such a precious existence that made him cry out loud ㅠㅜ I think I would cry like this if I was Chan Sung.. Yeo Jin Goo's acting skills has been insane since the last episode's ending.....

MAN WOL COME BACK!!!!!

Original Source (Sports Seoul via Naver): 'Hotel del Luna' Lee Do Hyun passes away due to Lee Ji Eun's sword Yeo Jin Goo crosses the River of Three Crossing

Nationwide ratings for episode 13 that aired on August 24: 8.8% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+2709, -20] Today's episode was really legendary. I think most of the easter eggs have been unveiled.. Man Wol, I'll keep you in my heart and become the moon that never falls to watch you from afar... Also, Yeo Jin Goo at the end - I thought he was really possessed; Seriously, all three of them are sad...

2. [+1512, -18] Today's ending was daebak... Goo Chan Sung's eye gaze is insane.. What's with the preview?! Does Chung Myung's spirit keep coming into Chan Sung's body?

3. [+1130, -18] Today's episode was really legendary, I think that all episodes are just legendary. Chung Myung is finally going to appear in front of Man Wol in tomorrow's episode

4. [+866, -12] Through Ms. Choi's episode, Man Wol's story was unveiled, Chung Myung's possession, and even the preview for episode 14 - I got chills from Jang Man Wol's three combo

5. [+459, -19] What's with the preview;; Man Wol-ah, let's stop using the vengeful ghosts ㅠ

1. [+5836, -42] Seriously the ending - with Yeo Jin Goo's walk and his eye gaze changing into Go Chung Myung's and IU's eye gaze and expression changing immediately, I hella got chills. It's also crazy how in the past scenes, the blood was dripping and in the present scene, it crossed into the water splattering ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
↪ [+489, -0] The directing for episode 13 was really legendary
↪ [+453, -0] I really got chills from when his way of walking was different

2. [+4133, -67] Today's episode was really legendary - no, I think every episode of 'Hotel del Luna' is legendary. Yeo Jin Goo's eye gaze is crazy - before I watched 'Hotel del Luna', I watched him in the 'The Crowned Clown' and seriously in that role, he played the role of the real king Lee Hyun and the commoner Ha Sun who had to pretend to be the King. And in every episode, he switched off from the role of Lee Hyun and the role of Ha Sun and he did such a good job with his eye gaze acting to his line delivery that he made you get chills and when he came out of the cave this time, I seriously thought it was someone else and not Chan Sung

3. [+4015, -37] I knew Yeo Jin Goo was good at acting but... I definitely felt it with this episode's ending - he expresses everything with his eye gaze ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I hella got chills when Man Wol said, "Who are you?"... Both of their acting skills are exploding

4. [+3152, -63] Wow... Seriously before Chung Myung passed way, when he hugged Man Wol for the last time, I watched it attentively because his hand was worrying and sad but who knew that would foreshadow the ending... Chung Myung ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

5. [+2841, -24] How many times did I refresh the page so that I could watch this...

oh my god...
my heart...... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
i keep saying this every week but my freaking heart ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Hyori show off their close friendship on the new show 'Laborhood on Hire'

Nationwide ratings for episode 1 that aired on August 24: 4.933% (cr. Laborhood on Hire Wiki)

1. [+4493, -100ㅋㅋㅋㅋ As expected, this unni isn't the type who can lie ㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+3657, -84] ㅋㅋㅋ Good, good. To be honest, is your menstruation cycle something you have to hide, it's something you get once a month
↪ [+337, -11] Is your period something you should be embarrassed about? People who are embarrassed about it are the weird ones; It's a natural thing but why can't we talk about periods... It's frustrating ㅡㅡ Ah

3. [+2638, -108] Is there another celebrity besides Hyori who can say that she's on her period in front of the entire nation and who can say it in a way where it's not unpleasant? She's really unrivaled ㅋㅋ I hope we can be in an environment where we can talk about our periods in our daily life in a nonchalant way.

4. [+449, -30ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I like the team ^^

5. [+359, -7] They seem like siblings who all grew up, got married, and see each other once or twice a year ㅋㅋ

1. [+1988, -71] ㅎㅎㅎ As expected of Lee Hyori ㅎㅎㅎ Yoo Jae Suk is so talkative ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+1561, -18] You have comfortable friends where even if you don't talk to each other frequently, you still get along well with them after you see them after a while - I think those two are this type of friendship

3. [+935, -32] As expected, these two's collab is the best

4. [+597, -15] I like the purpose of the show. Rather than them talking in a cool temperature studio, it's refreshing to see them using their bodies and trying various things. Anyways, I like Yoo Jae Suk - I like 'Yoo Quiz on the Block' too

5. [+509, -19] Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Hyori's chemistry is the best ㅋㅋㅋ
